ถ้าเราถามว่า "โรงเรียนห่างจากบ้านกี่กิโลเมตร?" คำตอบจะเป็นจำนวนบวกเสมอ เช่น 5 กิโลเมตร ไม่ว่าเราจะเดินไปหรือเดินกลับ ในทางคณิตศาสตร์ ค่าสัมบูรณ์ ก็คือการบอก ระยะห่าง ของตัวเลขนั้นจาก ศูนย์ (0) นั่นเอง

If we ask "How many kilometers is the school from home?", the answer is always a positive number, like 5 kilometers, whether you're going or returning. In math, Absolute Value is simply the distance of a number from zero (0).
